Saurashtra trounce hapless Orissa by 200 runs

Orissa crashed out the Buchi Babu All-India Invitation Cricket Tournament after suffering a humiliating 200-run defeat at the hands of Saurashtra at Chennai today. Chasing a mammoth target of 330, the hapless Orissa side was bundled out for 129. Subit Biswal waged a lone battle against the Saurashtra attack with an unbeaten 52. Rakesh Dhruv destroyed the Orissa batting line-up with a haul of six wickets. Orissa earlier drew their rain-marred first match against Kerala and then lost to Hyderabad by 46 runs. This the second all-India tournament, where Orissa put up miserable performance. Earlier the team also crashed out quickly from the KSCA tournament at Bangalore. BRIEF SCORE: Saurashtra 329/10 in 89.4 overs (JS Mehta 89, R Jadeja 53, J Saha 49; Niranjan Behera 3/43, Rakesh Mohanty 3/108) beat Orissa 130/10 in 50.3 overs (Subit Biswal 52 n.o; Rakesh Dhruv 6/45, R Jadeja 3/47).
